While using the Instagram app on your device, are you getting a message that you don't have an internet connection every time you try to perform an action then you need to fix the offline error.
Instagram no internet problem solving
The first step to start solving this problem is to restart your device and make sure you have a stable internet connection, if you have tried both and Instagram still not working, continue reading.
1. Clear app data and cache
If restarting Instagram doesn't fix the problem, try clearing the app's data and cache. On Android, you can clear the app's cache and data, but on iPhone, you have to delete and reinstall the app.
- How to uninstall Instagram from iPhone
- Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage.
- Scroll down until you find the Instagram app and tap on it.
- Then click Unload Application.
- Then go to the App Store, find Instagram and install it again.
- Clear Instagram Cache on Android
- Open Settings > Apps and tap the Instagram app.
- Depending on your Android device version, you may need to tap Storage to access Clear Data and Clear Cache.
- Click Clear Cache.
- To clear data, follow the same steps again, but tap on Clear data instead.
2. Enable Instagram permissions
Instagram requires many app permissions to work properly on your iOS or Android phone (Camera, Contacts, Microphone, Photos, Storage). Instagram may not function properly if one or two of these permissions are disabled.
- Enable Instagram permissions on Android
- Settings > Apps & notifications > Instagram > Permissions.
- Depending on your Android device version, you should now either tap the switch next to each option to make it green, or tap the ignore list entry to allow it.
- Enable Instagram app permissions on iOS
- Go to Settings > Instagram.
- Then grant all relevant permissions.
3. Instagram feeds interrupted
If Instagram is experiencing a global outage, there is nothing you can do but wait for the Instagram team to fix the outage. One sign that the server is down is the error “5xx” when opening the app.
You can also use third-party status checking tools like Down Detector, Is It Down, Stopped, etc. to enter a URL and it will show you something like “Potential Instagram Problem” or “Instagram Problem” if Instagram is down. You will be notified by message.
Other ways to verify your Instagram account include Twitter and checking your company's posts and updates.
4. Try another device
If your internet connection is fine, try using Instagram on a different device, instead check if the app is working on someone else's phone, see their feed and upload photos and videos. Please confirm.
5. Instagram update
If nothing has worked so far, you may not have updated the Instagram app to the latest version for your device. This is because newer versions usually include security patches, bug fixes, and new features.
- To update your application:
- Open Google Play Store and tap Menu.
- Click on My apps and games.
- Then check if there is an update option next to Instagram.
- After the app update is complete, try to run Instagram again.
6. Uninstall and reinstall Instagram
If the problem is caused by a bug, you can fix Instagram by uninstalling and reinstalling the Instagram app.
- Open Settings > Apps & notifications.
- Click Instagram.
- Click Uninstall.
- Then go back to the Google Play Store and reinstall the latest Instagram version.
- Then sign in again and see if it works.
7. Check common error messages and known issues
Like most other apps, Instagram has a lot of error messages and known issues, and this list is updated regularly so that users can find solutions to daily issues with the app.
If you notice an error message, you can do a Google search to see if your issue is already resolved.
8. Report issues to Instagram
If none of the steps mentioned here fix the problem, you can report the error from within the Instagram app. Please provide as much detail as possible about the issue you're having in the report, the device you're using, and what you've done before.
